What does an employee really cost?
See employer costs and indicative net pay for flexi-job workers, student workers, white-collar employees and blue-collar workers. Includes checks against the relevant Belgian rules for 2026.
Calculate the salary cost
Calculation year 2026The JC you choose does not automatically set a sector pay scale or exact NSSO rate. Check the main activity and the collective agreement.
Excludes flexi holiday pay, meal vouchers, bonuses and allowances. Check the applicable pay scale.
Flexi-job: do you qualify?
Check per quarterAnswer the questions about the candidate. The reference quarters below are calculated automatically from the start date. This is not an official NSSO authorisation.
The 4/5 check for T-3 does not apply to retirees. The status must be confirmed by the NSSO.
With one or more employers other than the planned flexi employer; certain assimilated periods count.
Such a reduction usually triggers a two-quarter block. Check both transitions:
In principle the candidate may not also be (or have been) a regular employee with the same employer in the same quarter. Limited exceptions exist, for example for agency work and affiliated companies.
The scheme was extended on 1 July 2026, but sector opt-outs and excluded professions remain possible. Selecting a JC does not confirm this.
Across all flexi employers. For non-retirees, a tax exemption applies in 2026 up to €18,440; above that, total tax depends on other income.
Also verify eligibility through the official pre-contractual data and a timely Dimona FLX. A Dimona OK response does not confirm all conditions during the current quarter.
Annual employer cost
Calculate the annual obligations and optional bonuses alongside the ordinary monthly cost. All amounts are for the chosen group of employees.
12 = a full year. Adjust for shorter employment.
Statutory double holiday pay: up to 92% of a gross monthly salary with full entitlement; proportional with limited accrual.
Not generally required by law. Check the joint committee, seniority and conditions.
Fill in only if it follows from a CBA, contract or agreement.
Only an extra bonus on top of the statutory scheme, where applicable.
Pay benefits, deductions and costs
Select an item. It appears straight away in the right payslip group and the amount can be edited immediately. All amounts are per employee.
Choose an item from the menu. You can adjust its description, classification and amount in place.
A BIK is a taxable private benefit, not paid wages or a leasing cost. IT BIK with private use is added before employee NSSO contributions; a company car BIK only after them. A net allowance increases the net amount paid and the employer cost, provided the tax and NSSO conditions are met. Employer cost only increases the cost. A deduction reduces the net amount.
NSSO parameter white-collar / blue-collar
25% is a base rate for the private for-profit sector, not a guaranteed actual rate. Sector contributions and reductions are not calculated automatically.
Calculations take place only in this web page. No pay or personal data you enter is sent anywhere.
Annual breakdown · full team
A budget estimate, not a final payroll calculation. Holiday entitlements, CBAs and bonuses may differ.
Employer cost breakdown per month per person
From gross to net · per month
IndicationA BIK is counted for tax purposes but is not paid in cash. The actual cost of the benefit must be entered separately.
- The result is indicative.
Compare the four statuses
Indicative basic comparison on the same gross hourly value and contract hours, without additional pay items. A comparison does not prove that every status legally applies.

Calculation rules and limits, 2026. Flexi: base wage + 7.67% flexi holiday pay and a 28% special employer contribution (on wages including holiday pay). Students: 2.71% employee contribution and 5.42% employer contribution with a valid quota and all conditions met. White-collar employees and blue-collar workers: 13.07% employee NSSO contributions (blue-collar usually on a 108% basis), the employer NSSO rate you set, and the official key formula for ordinary monthly pay (2026), with tax inputs for family situation and annual rates. The social work bonus and a monthly SSSC advance are now estimated automatically from the pay month and tax assessment type; incomplete DmfA periods, actual quarterly pay and exact sector contributions may differ. The fiscal work bonus and ordinary family reductions are applied; for special cases we state explicitly that no exact net calculation is possible. The benefit in kind (BIK) for IT equipment follows fixed amounts and in principle forms part of the ordinary NSSO base when used privately. The company car BIK is entered by the user as a taxable value and added to taxable pay after ordinary employee NSSO contributions; the employer may also owe a CO₂ solidarity contribution. For BIKs, the tax value and actual employer costs are separate items; a BIK may be subject to NSSO contributions, with specific rules for company cars. Expense allowances are net only if the proper evidence and conditions are met. Meal vouchers are exempt only under the statutory/sector conditions and are not cash net pay. Additional annual bonuses not yet actually paid may only be entered as an employer provision and are left out of the cash net calculation. Withholding tax: the statutory key formula is applied to ordinary monthly pay. Actual payroll may differ because of exceptions not asked for here (including sector/DmfA, special bonuses, group insurance, family tax entitlements, foreign situations). This tool is not a validated payroll engine or a legal certificate.
